Churches Uniting in Christ (CUIC) and Ecumenical & Interfaith Unity

In the same vein as the National Council and the World Council of Churches, just when you though it was safe here comes the Churches Uniting in Christ. This organization was birthed from the Consultation of Church Union (COCU), which was formed in 1962. The COCU has been attempting to integrate these denominations since 1962. The denominations are the Presbyterian Church (USA), United Church of Christ, Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, International Council of Community Churches, The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), African Methodist Episcopal Church, the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, United Methodist Church, and the Episcopal Church. The program has already been approved by most of these groups.

Here Comes the Global Church - The term "Uniting" in the title expresses the desire of these ecumenists eventually to see all denominations and churches incorporated into their scheme.

Protestant Churches Ready for Small but Historic Step Toward Unity - Worship services and a march in the city where the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated will highlight the start of a new relationship called Churches Uniting in Christ (CUIC).

Report of the 18th Plenary of the COCU - This document provides the organizations mission for the Uniting of Churches in Christ.

Should Christians Join Interfaith Communion? - There is great social pressure today to conform to whatever cultural liberals decide is "politically correct" (PC). PC issues are often tied to discrimination — seemingly all forms of discrimination are considered wrong, from racial bias (which is wrong) to moral judgments against homosexuality.
