May & June's Edition focuses on The
Towel Ministry |
|
That’s right, TOWEL MINISTRY. It’s not a new concept like a “Bus
Ministry” or a “Television Ministry”. This is straight from the Bible and
Jesus is the one who started it. There have been many books written
about Jesus, His life, His teaching, His preaching, His healings, and the ministry He did while He was in this world. This article is concerned about an obscure and often ignored ministry of our Lord. This is about the
“TOWEL MINISTRY” that Jesus started and commanded ALL OF US to
get involved in.

Morality Hanging by a Thread
http://headlines.agapepress.org/archive/4/222003a.asp
(AgapePress) - Most people have never heard of Lawrence and Garner v.
Texas, but after the U.S. Supreme Court rules on the case sometime before the end of June, chances are it will become as famous as Roe v.
Wade, the high court's 1973 decision legalizing abortion. Lawrence
and Garner v. Texas deals with the issue of homosexual sodomy
-- admittedly an issue that most people rarely, if ever, think
about. However, the core principles of the case are intertwined
with related issues like human sexuality and marriage, making it a
potential earthquake in American culture.

Denominational Report Card
http://www.christianarsenal.com/Demrpt.htm
People often complain that the average everyday citizen does not
know what the US Congress and Senate are doing with our money in
Washington. As much as
we don't like it, we just can not control a great portion of what
our government wastes our money on. Would it surprise
you to find out that there are literally millions of Church members
that give to Churches, Denominations and various ministries and that
do not know how their Denomination stands on issues. We recently visited a church
where the membership proudly declared their stand for Biblical Family
values. As a matter of fact the membership held a very conservative
Christian evangelical doctrinal position. This same church also
sent $80,000 to their denomination's coffers this past year. This
denomination is promoting and supporting Gay and Lesbian lifestyles
as normal. They support the rights of women to have abortions. Most
of their seminaries reject the virgin birth, the inspiration of the
Bible, and Jesus is seen as a good teacher but not the only way to
heaven.

Evangelism
http://www.christianarsenal.com/Evangelism.htm
These links should provide invaluable help in these three areas of
Evangelism. See the links on
discipleship too, remember on the other side of the coin of evangelism
you will find discipleship! Evangelism without discipleship and
discipleship without evangelism is a foreign concept to the Bible.

Right from Wrong - Josh Mcdowell & Bob Hostetler
Our children are being raised in a society that has largely rejected the
concepts of truth and morality. In Right From Wrong, McDowell offers hope
and provides families and the church with a sound, thorough, biblical and
workable method to clearly understand and defend the truth. In an age of
moral and ethical relativism, where truth is a matter of taste and morality
of individual preference, this book points the way to the ancient and eternal
verities and provide young people with a biblical standard for making moral
and ethical decisions.

Legislating Morality - Dr. Norman Geisler & Frank Turek
This Gold Medallion Award-winning book is a timely and important examination of the issue of church-and-state. The writers examine the
alarming number of cultural problems that have exploded in the United
States since 1960 and link this to the abandonment, relaxation, and overruling of the standards of morality in our laws and customs. Addressing
the wisdom, legality, and possibility of legislating morality, Geisler and
Turek answer the following arguments: The government can't legislate
morality; No one should force his or her morals on anyone else; As long
as I don't hurt anyone else, the government should leave me alone; We're
a pluralistic society. There are no common values to legislate; We can't
legislate morality because it involves religion, which would be a violation
of the separation of church and state; and Laws can't change hearts.
Legislating Morality advocates a moral base for America without sacrificing
religious and cultural diversity, debunking the myth that "morality can't be
legislated" and amply demonstrating how liberals, moderates, and conservatives alike exploit law to promote good and curtail evil. This book
boldly challenges prevailing thinking about right and wrong and about our
nation's moral future.
