Paul Crouch and the management at TBN have never been known for Biblical or Doctrinal accuracy. This time TBN has shown a definite lack of discernment. Recently Della Reese made an appearance on the TBN network and was given the acceptance, time and status as a fellow Christian Minister. Allowing someone like this to be presented, as “one of us” is nothing short of totally irresponsible. Della became a public figure several years ago as a recording artist; she began touring with Mahalia Jackson when she was 13. She continued to grow in her singing and acting career. In 1987, she was ordained by the Universal Foundation for Better Living. She, along with Dr. Johnnie Colemon founded the Understanding Principles for Better Living Church. As many people know she starred in Touched by an Angel for seven years and during this time became very well known to the average Christian family. This show was good enough to appease most family watch groups. However, it taught some things about angels that were incorrect and never dealt with the subject of Jesus. Also during this time there was an unhealthy emphasis on angels both in and out of the church. (Yes, we realize it was just a TV program. The problem was that many people believe and are influenced by nearly everything they see on TV and many accept things like this as reality. This was a Christless religion.) Lately, you may also have seen Della in several 1-800- dial a psychic type commercials.

'Educational Missionary' Debunks Evolution with Science
http://headlines.agapepress.org/archive/5/172002e.asp
(Agape Press) A former evolutionist is helping Christians defend what
God’s Word says about the origins of the universe. Dr. Grady McMurtry is
a biblical scientific creationist who equips Christians to stand against the
flawed arguments supporting the theory of evolution. McMurtry says evolutionists are constantly having to revise their argument.

Angels: A Biblical Study of the Doctrine
http://www.christianarsenal.com/Apologetics/Angels.htm
Angels are spiritual beings created by God who help carry out His work as
agents and messengers and to glorify Him. The Bible presents no specific
doctrine of Angels. The Bible ASSUMES that God is attended by a company or HOST of heavenly beings who are subordinate to Himself and
who share His company and reflect His glory and majesty. Angels always
appear in relation to God and humanity in the role of servants. There are
both good and bad angels (Revelation 12:7), but because bad angels are
allied with the devil, or Satan, they have considerably less power and
authority than good angels.

Christian Reading for the Month of June 2002 |

Angels: God's Secret Agents - Billy Graham
This is a one-volume introduction to one of the most popular spiritual
phenomena of our time. Firmly grounded in Graham's close readings of scripture, Angels testifies to Graham's own encounters with the heavenly
beings and also records the many similar stories that other believers have
told him over the years. Graham devotes entire chapters to the questions
of whether angels are visible or invisible, how they differ from men and
women, and how the angelic hierarchy is organized. He also discusses
the much-debated theory that UFO sightings are in fact angelic appearances.

Wreckless Faith: When a Church Loses It's Will to Discern
- John MacArthur
In a society that is hostile to anyone who declares absolutes, that tolerates faith in any form, that values emotion over reason and
trendiness over conviction, it's no surprise that many American churches
have lost their ability to discern between biblical truth and doctrinal error.
John MacArthur attempts to set them straight.

The Death of Truth: What's Wrong with Multiculturalism, the
Rejection of Reason and the New Post Modern Diversity - Dennis McCallum
America is in the midst of a revolution in thinking that impacts every
conceivable aspect of life. Postmodernism, the guiding spirit of our times,
teaches that things like reason and rationality are cultural biases, and
that truth especially God's truth doesn't exist. A society that forsakes
truth believes that: All lifestyles, religions, and worldviews are equally valid,
The only real sin is criticizing someone else's views or moral choices,
Opinions matter as much as evidence, Reality is in the mind of the beholder. Not since Charles Darwin confronted Christians with his doctrine
of naturalistic evolution has the church faced a challenge for which it is so
ill-prepared. We are witnessing The Death of Truth.
