Eleven
Arguments Against Same Sex Marriage (Part 1 of 5)
by Dr.
James Dobson
An argument in favor of homosexual marriage that you are likely to
hear again and again on radio talk shows, on national television, and on
the Internet, reflects a line of reasoning that you must be prepared to
counter. It is embodied in these kinds of questions: Why all the fuss
about gay marriage anyway? And why should it matter to you if a gay couple
marries and moves into your neighborhood? Why shouldn’t our definition
of family be broadened and modernized? After all, what harm could possibly
be done by yielding to the demands of those who say traditional notions of
family are outmoded and irrelevant?

God - How Secularism is Attempting to Abolish the Truth in Our Culture
(AgapePress) - The idea is that Christianity is disfavored in our
popular culture, which feels free to impugn Christians, discriminate
against them, show intolerance toward them, and suppress their religious
liberty, all the while touting tolerance. These are the very people who
scream the loudest in support of religious liberty.

War - The Cultural Cleaving of America
(AgapePress) - It was "the
map." Everyone seemed to be talking about it on election night almost
four years ago, and for weeks afterwards. Talking heads and political
pundits analyzed the vote returns and clearly saw that the election seemed
to have split the nation into two camps.

Homosexuality: Giving
Your Viewpoint
I want to make a distinction between two ways of addressing the
issue of homosexuality. I think Christians have made some mistakes here
focusing on an internal approach--quoting the Bible--rather than using an
external approach--finding some means other than Scripture to persuade.
Quoting Bible verses is great when dealing with Christians who are
inclined to obey God. It's different, though, when dealing in the secular
public square.

I
Don't Have Enough Faith To Be An Atheist - by Frank Turek and Norman
Geisler
All worldviews, including
atheism, require faith. "I Don’t Have Enough Faith to Be an
Atheist" argues that Christianity requires the least faith of all
because it is the most reasonable. The authors lay out the evidence for
truth, God, and the Bible in logical order and in a readable,
non-technical, engaging style. A valuable aid to those interested in
examining the reasonableness of the Christian faith, Geisler and Turek
provide a firm challenge to the previous beliefs of doubters of all sorts.
God
Wrote A Book - by James MacDonald
God Wrote A Book There’s something
very powerful in that simple statement---especially when you realize He
wrote it to you and me, sharing His thoughts and His heart with each one
of us. But not everyone
believes that. In fact, you’ve probably been asked why you are so bent
on following God’s book -- believing it and doing what it says. For
those times, here’s affirmation to bolster your faith and a reasonable
response for you to give to others who are asking legitimate, intelligent
questions about what the Bible is and what it can do for them.
