July &
August's Edition focuses on Tolerance & Christianity |
|
|
In this time of “Tolerance”, "Political Correctness" and “Relativism” many
Christians do not know what their responsibilities are according to what
God has revealed in His word. There are those who are in the Church
today that have convinced many that we are not to judge or discern
anything. There are also many outside of the church who cry for “Tolerance” telling us that by judging and discerning we are violating the
very Bible we say we believe. The media and the liberals force political
correctness and tolerance on us daily. This has left many confused and
has silenced them in the church and kept them from being what God intended them to be in the world.

The Summer of Sodomy
http://headlines.agapepress.org/archive/8/152003jm.asp
(AgapePress) - As another day ends, a new one will soon begin, and slowly but surely America is stumbling out of a summer that has dimmed
her ability to be a moral leader in a world tarnished by the temporal and
drowned in debauchery. For those of us keeping track, this summer has
produced a scorecard not favorable to the conservatives who are knee
deep in the culture war to reclaim America's values and dignity. The area
suffering the largest number of casualties -- marriage and traditional
family values.

Compartmentalized Christianity
http://www.christianarsenal.com/Apologetics/CompChristian.htm
Last year during the Presidential campaign, Al Gore was making a speech
trying to appeal to as many people as he could. He was speaking on the
subject of conservation and the environment. He began to transition to the
subject to religion and morality. He began this particular part of the speech
in this manner, “I now call upon the Christian part of myself……” It
occurred to me at that point in time that this was echoing something that
has become prevalent. We define ourselves as a compartmentalized being
when it comes to religion and to our relationship to God. While it is true
that humans have a material and a non-material part, (Body, Soul, and
Spirit) they cannot have a Christian and non-Christian part.

Love vs. Apologetics
http://www.christianarsenal.com/Apologetics/Ministryoflove.htm
We often get letters from those who are disturbed by the information on
our site and or the subject matter we address in our newsletters. Working in the area of Christian Apologetics, we expect that we would
find those who oppose a ministry such as this. We certainly acknowledge
the right of anyone to disagree with us. The curious thing is that some of
the strongest letters of opposition come from Christians.

Christianity Without the Bible
http://www.christianarsenal.com/Apologetics/ChristianitywoBible.htm
Is it possible to have Church and Christianity without the Bible constantly
thrown to the forefront? Can a church set aside the Bible as God’s authoritative Word and still be a church? Can those persons and
denominations who claim to be representing Christ and Christianity do so
while claiming that God’s word is not authoritative enough to set standards
by which we should live? To some this question may seem ridiculous to ask, while others ponder the thought with high hopes of coming up with a
yes.

Beyond Belief to Convictions - Josh McDowell & Bob
Hosteller
In this comprehensive volume, Josh McDowell offers the tools to correct
our young people's distorted beliefs and lead them to deepened convictions
about God and his Word. In classic McDowell fashion, he provides families
and the church with a "relational apologetic" -- rock solid reasons to
believe and a biblical blueprint for living out those beliefs in relationships
with others.

The Case for Faith - Lee Strobel
Lee Strobel examines the eight most convincing arguments against Christian faith. These are mighty tough questions, and Strobel fields them
well. Rather than write a weighty dissertation about the merits of faith, he
brings us along on his quest as we meet leaders in the Christian community, such as Peter Kreeft and William Lane Craig. We also
encounter his everyday friends and acquaintances that serendipitously fill
in the holes in each of the eight arguments against faith. The use of
dialogue from personal interviews and a scene-by-scene active narrative
makes this an easy and engaging read. This is a book of substance and
merit, one that will help Christians defend their faith, especially during the
hardest of times, when they have to defend their faith to themselves in
moments of doubt.

The Covering - Hank Hanegraaff
In a world where evil seems to lurk around every corner and our thoughts
turn to worry about our safety and security, the armor of God is our Father's protection in the fight against evils of our temporary home.
Best-selling author Hank Hanegraaff describes God's protective covering
over his children by dissecting Paul's words in Ephesians 6: 10-18 commanding us to put on the armor of God and "take our stand against
the devil's schemes." Hanegraaff moves through the passage, phrase by
phrase, defining God's armor, explaining what it means to embrace God's covering, and the practical ways God delivers us from evil.
