Child Communication Can Curb Cheating?
AgapePress)
- A new survey indicates just how common cheating is in
public schools. The ABC News Primetime poll finds that more
than 70 percent of teenagers say students in their school
cheat on tests, and almost as many say cheating on homework
is prevalent. Also,
a third of the students surveyed said they would be more
likely to cheat if they knew they would never get caught.
And, according to the poll, only a third of students said
they have had a serious talk with their parents about
cheating.

Does
the Argument from Mind Provide Evidence for God? - by J.P.
Moreland
Finite
conscious minds such as the ones we possess provide evidence
of a Divine Mind as their creator. If we limit our worldview
options to theism (the belief that there is a personal God)
and naturalism (the belief that the
physical, material world is all there is),
it is hard to see how human minds could result from the
rearrangement of brute matter. It is much easier to see how
a Conscious Being could produce the finite conscious minds
we possess.

Intellectual Neutral - by William Lane Craig
Several
years ago, two books appeared which sent shock waves through
the American educational community. The first of these,
entitled Cultural Literacy: What Every American Needs to
Know, by E. D. Hirsch, documented the fact that large
numbers of American college students do not have the basic
background knowledge to understand the front page of a
newspaper or to act responsibly as citizens. For example, a
quarter of the students in a recent survey thought the
president during the Vietnam war was Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Two-thirds did not know when the Civil War occurred.
One-third thought Columbus discovered the New World sometime
after 1750.

Campus
Culture - by John D. Martin
From
March 28th to March 30th, Christian philosopher, theologian,
author and speaker Dr. William Lane Craig presented a series
of workshops and discussions on the Purdue University Campus
in West Lafayette, Ind. The series culminated with a debate
on the existence of God with atheist philosopher Dr. Austin
Dacey. Tuesday afternoon, Dr. Craig graciously took time out
of his hectic schedule to converse with me on behalf of Boundless.
What follows is a transcript of my interview.

Notes for the Graduate - by Robert
Stofel
A
graduation present they will read, use and benefit from.
I recently had the privilege to read this book while
it was still in proof.
This book is a must for graduates heading off to
college. With the number of books out there that are said to
be “perfect for the graduate”, I would like to tell you
that this one is really different. It is one that your
graduate will read and get something out of.
The
book is easy to read yet Biblically solid, profound and
covers 100 facets of life that the, “graduate who now
knows it all” will find useful, insightful, and helpful.
Each chapter is 2 pages long and says at least 20 pages
worth. The
format is easy to follow and entertaining. The book can be
used as a devotional reading book or a reference for issues
and problems. The reader is introduced to generous potions
of scriptures as well as quotes from some of the greatest
writers and thinkers that God has given us. It was easy and
fun to read and I found it hard to put down.
The
author, Robert Stofel, has done a masterful job of writing a
book that is not only good reading for a graduate or soon to
be graduate, but he has produced a book that parents and
youth workers will find helpful as discussion starters for
them as well. This
one is well worth giving. Get one for yourself.
